- Drink lots of water. This is a desert, and dehydration is a serious problem. If you can't carry water around with you, note that all businesses must provide free water to guests. Pro-tip: go to Trader Joe's and stock up on their bottled water. It's ridiculously cheap.
- Try the Mexican food. Even if you're not a fan of Mexican cuisine (it's not really my thing), it's worth getting the authentic experience at least once.
- Eat at Eegee's. Not going to fill this list with food recommendations, but Eegee's is a uniquely South Arizona experience. I mean, it's just sandwiches, fries, and frozen drinks, but it's oddly charming.
- Check out the sunsets. Usually around 6-7pm, depending on the time of year, it's worth poking your head outside to see if you can catch the sunset--the way the light plays off of the Catalinas or the lovely pinks, blues, and golds of the clouds near the horizon.
- Go into the mountains. Enter a canyon, perhaps, or take a drive up Mount Lemmon. The mountains incredible views and other things worth checking out. You could spend years here and never explore it all, but it's worth going in for a taste.
Tucson's pretty great, though. I recommend it.
